Kuzhali Manickavel was born in Winnipeg, Canada, and moved to Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu when she was 13 years old. She is currently based in Bangalore. Her work has appeared in Granta, Strange Horizons, Agni, Subtropics, the Michigan Quarterly Review and DIAGRAM. She is the author of INSECTS ARE JUST LIKE YOU AND ME EXCEPT SOME OF THEM HAVE WINGS (Blaft Publications, 2008) and THINGS WE FOUND DURING THE AUTOPSY (Blaft Publications, 2014).
