She is obsessed with the family and tries to trap Brody into marrying her. Her plans to elope while on a trip to Lake Tahoe, fails and she loses the opportunity. Brody takes her on a special horse back ride to a hunting cabin that was transformed into a romantic getaway and proposes to marry her. On their way back, Brody has a tragic accident and she has to run back to the house to get help. While Brody is in the hospital, Paige receives a call, telling her that her father has died. He lost most of his money in the stock market crash which lead to a major heart attack and her inheritance is much less than she expects to get. Her step mother sells her childhood home and moves to Europe. She now feels all alone in the world with no one to turn to. Her plans to marry Brody are now on hold until he recovers or survives his accident. She wished that they could have married before this happened. Brody's recovery will determine her fate.
