James parents divorced by the time he was 6 years old. His mother Dorothy West raised her 5 boys and 2 girls on welfare in Oakland California. She taught you kids the importance of being good communicators and to work hard for the things you want in life. A lesson James never forgot. James attended Laney Jr College in Oakland taking construction classes. He has been a general contractor / real estate investor for more than 20 years. In 1981 he was introduced to self help personal development books. He has spent several years studing and attending workshops, seminars and training classes on personal development. James has studied with Brian Tracy, Les Brown and Tony Robbins just to name a few.
