Right Rev. Mgr. John Stephen Vaughan was an English Catholic bishop, born on January 24, 1853, in Herefordshire, United Kingdom. He was part of a notable Catholic family, with his brothers Bernard, Roger, and Herbert Vaughan also achieving prominence in the Church. Vaughan's commitment to his faith led him to serve as a bishop, and he held the position of Titular Bishop of Sebastopolis in Armenia. His parents, Louisa Elizabeth Rolls Vaughan, played a significant role in his early life, and he descended from a distinguished lineage, including John Rolls of The Hendre and his great-grandmother, Sarah Coysh. Vaughan was dedicated to his ecclesiastical responsibilities, serving the Catholic community with devotion throughout his career. He passed away on December 4, 1925, at the age of 72, in Great Harwood, United Kingdom. His legacy in the Catholic Church, along with the contributions of his brothers, remains an integral part of the Church's history. Vaughan's life was marked by his service to his faith and his family, leaving a lasting impression on both religious and familial circles.
