Elizabeth Hudgins resided in Fairfax County, Virginia, where she taught English in public secondary, colleges, and graduate schools. Afterward, she continued to teach traditional Orthodox iconography and Scripture. She had many interests including photography, theology, pottery, travel, needlework, and astronomy. She had a number of articles and poems published in a variety of magazines and journals. She received her bachelor's degree from Mary Washington College, her masters from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and her doctorate from The George Washington University.
