Yank Shi est né en Chine en 1941. Il a travaillé comme enseignant dans une université de Yantai en Chine pendant 14 ans. Il a dirigé une entreprise manufacturière liée aux semi-conducteurs pendant 20 ans et est aujourd'hui à la retraite.
