She is a book critic and features writer for a range of publications including the Observer, the Guardian and the FT Weekend Magazine, and was the book pundit on the Sara Cox show on BBC Radio 2. A regular chair at festivals and events across the UK, she has interviewed a range of writers and celebrities from Graham Norton and Nigella Lawson to Maggie O'Farrell and Kate Atkinson. She has judged numerous book prizes including the Costa Books Awards. Three Mothers is her fourth novel.
