Three of the Last WWII Screaming Eagles describes in a rich, powerful, and often intense way the war experiences of Jim "Pee Wee" Martin, Dick Klein, and Dan McBride, three WWII paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division also known as the Screaming Eagles. Conveyed almost exclusively in their own words and with many details not previously published, this book covers how these men grew up during the Great Depression, describes their demanding paratrooper training in the U.S., and goes into great depth about their wartime experiences. The primary focus of this book is on the arduous battles they fought against the Germans in France when they jumped into Normandy the night before D-Day, after they made their second combat jump into The Netherlands during Operation Market Garden, as well as their final major battle in Belgium during the epic fighting in the cold and brutal winter at the Battle of the Bulge. This might be one of the last books based on first-hand interviews of WWII veterans, as we are losing large numbers of the WWII generation each and every day. The revenues of the book will go to two U.S. foundations, the Patriot Foundation and the Screaming Eagle Foundation. Both foundations support children of U.S. veterans with scholarships. Raising funds for scholarships with the revenues will help these children tremendously, as this is the positive effect: Studies have shown that simply opening a college savings account for a child, even if it contains an extremely small sum, will exponentially increase the chance that he will go to college." (Source: The Wall Street Journal, "Start Early to Raise Money-Savvy Kids" by Beth Kobliner, July 28, 2013.) The aim of this book is therefore not only to capture these fabulous stories but also to raise money to give children a better prospect.
