Geboren am 4. Mai 1981 in Mariscal Yehuitz, Gemeinde Tumbalá, Chiapas. Er ist das älteste von fünf Geschwistern. Seine Muttersprache ist Ch'ol, und er absolvierte seine Grundausbildung in seiner Heimatstadt. Er war Lehrer für Grundschulbildung. Er hat einen Abschluss als Sekundarschullehrer mit Spezialisierung in Mathematik und einen Doktortitel in Bildungsentwicklung.
