Gunnar E Garrett Jr. was born and raised in Modesto, California. After high school, he joined the US Air Force and worked as a nuclear weapons specialist. Continuing his military career by serving in the Army National Guard, he volunteered to deploy to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Once honorably discharged from the military, Gunnar went on to study mechanical design, spending most of his free time with his five daughters. Gunnar was inspired to pursue a writing career when his second oldest daughter, Madison Mae, became interested in the film industry. Gunnar's screenplays have been nominated in more than 50 film festivals and global writing competitions.
