Through the New Testament with Michael Green is designed to be read with a Bible . . . not in place of the Bible, and is intended to help a reader understand the main thrust of the New Testament's message. Through the New Testament with Michael Green, said a reviewer, "has achieved the big picture, not by abandoning the details of passages, but by providing a brief commentary on every one of them. It's a difficult trick to pull off, but this book is written as though it were a set of daily readings (which it could be). Because each section is short, you get a sense of the whole." Here's a book that is easy to absorb. It is written in bite-sized teachings, concisely and expertly explained. Autorenporträt
Michael Green was a British theologian, Christian apologist, Anglican priest, and author of more than 50 books. He was a man of infectious joy and "indefatigable evangelistic energy." Throughout his teaching career, he was a friend to students, with whom he shared his passion for ministry and evangelism. Michael Green was educated at Oxford and Cambridge; became assistant curate of Holy Trinity, Eastbourne; a tutor at the London College of Divinity; principal of St. John's College, Nottingham; rector of St. Aldate's Church, Oxford; and chaplain of the Oxford Pastorate. Then for five years he was professor of evangelism at Regent College in Vancouver, Canada. He returned to England to become an advisor to the Archbishop of Canterbury for the Springboard initiative for the Decade of Evangelism. At retirement age, he became Head of Evangelism and Apologetics at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. Upon his death in February, 2019, Church Times said, "Michael Green was a scholar, a writer, a lecturer, a parish priest, a mentor, and a friend to countless Christian leaders all over the world, but, above all, he was a passionate evangelist."
