Picking up where his first book Thumbs Out left off, Jim Poole returned home from U.S. Army Service in 1958. He resettled in his hometown of Sudbury, Massachusetts with his wife, Wendy just in time to welcome their first child into the world. He resumed working on his family's mink farm and began his next chapter of life. As his family grew, he assumed ownership of the mink farm. Thumbs Up documents Jim's pivot from owning the mink farm to buying a bobbin business after the farm's untimely demise. After years of selling bobbins in Massachusetts, Jim packed up the bobbin business and moved to Maine. Later Jim sold the bobbin business to his son and continues to enjoy retirement in his rural community.
