Histogenesis of thyroid glands revealed that, there was a delay in the pre colloid formation to follicular growth stage. Disorders of thyroid gland development and function are relatively common affecting approximately one newborn infant in 2000-4000. The present study helps that delay in the pre colloid stage to follicular growth stage of thyroid gland leads to anomalies. Dysfunction and anatomic abnormalities of the thyroid are among the most common diseases of the endocrine glands.
