We conducted a retrospective study including two observations of thyrotropic adenoma collected in our department and 37 cases published in the literature between 2007 and 2017.The mean age of our patients was 45.5 years with a female predominance.The TAs were mixed in 24% of cases. We conducted a retrospective study including two observations of thyrotropic adenoma collected in our department and 37 cases published in the literature between 2007 and 2017.The mean age of our patients was 45.5 years with a female predominance.The TAs were mixed in 24% of cases. A goiter was present in 67.6% of cases. The initial diagnosis was wrong in 11 patients. The diagnosis was retained in 14 patients with a biological profile of central hyperthyroidism associated with an adenoma on pituitary MRI. In the other patients, dynamic tests and alpha subunit determination were necessary. It was a macroadenoma in 76% of cases. Surgical treatment was performed in 64.7% of cases. Resection was complete in 6 patients. Eleven patients received medical treatment alone with reduction of the tumor mass in 6 patients. External radiotherapy was indicated in case of failure of surgery or medical treatment. All patients were clinically euthyroid at their last visit. No tumor recurrence was noted.
