He is also a former head coach of several teams in both the NCAA and the NBA, most recently the University of Southern California men's college basketball team. Floyd is also known as the coach of the Chicago Bulls after Phil Jackson, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman left the team.Born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Floyd is a 1977 graduate of Louisiana Tech University where he earned a bachelor's of science degree in health and physical education. He originally was a walk-on player at The University of Southern Mississippi, but he transferred to Louisiana Tech and was a scholarship player there.
