Time Is Standing Still at a Furious Pace is a book of aphorisms. Usually such books are collected from many authors. I wrote the following aphorisms over many years. Autorenporträt
Like so many of us, I had a painful childhood. We moved over thirty times before I was eighteen years of age. I fell ill and could not finish high school. In my early twenty's I wrote a prose novella in English and another in French. I submitted these to McGill University English Department and was accepted in an Honours English program. Near the end of the term, I chose to become a hippie. I am proud of it. Western society had become authoritarian, calcified. In France, it was May '68, the student and worker movement. A few years later I further removed myself from society and went to live in a cave off a small island on the sunshine coast. Eventually I married and had children. I took short term research projects. I continued writing, something I began in childhood. Art is our greatest teacher and art is everywhere.
