Autorenporträt

Diane Silvey is a member of the Sechelt Band (Coast Salish). She graduated from the University of British Columbia's Native Indian Teacher Education Program and taught in band and public schools in British Columbia for twenty-three years. She is the author of two picture books, two novels ( Spirit Quest and Raven's Flight), and the non-fiction book, The Kids Book of Aboriginal Peoples in Canada. Her textbook, From Time Immemorial, won the B.C. Book Award in 2000. She lives in Victoria, British Columbia. John Mantha has illustrated 14 previous books, including The Kids Book of Aboriginal Peoples in Canada, which was nominated for a B.C. Book Prize. He lives in Toronto.
