The loss or failure of an organ or tissue resulting from an injury or disease remains one of the most frequent and significant clinical problems in human healthcare globally. Different approaches are advocated worldwide to replace the organ or tissue loss.Tissue engineering is a field creating biological alternatives for defective tissues and organs that have failed to heal by themselves. Basically, tissue engineering involves the use of engineering principles in the development of tissue or organ grafts. The wave of advancement in medical sciences in the field of regenerative therapy also touched the ground of oral & maxillofacial surgery. Lots of studies and researches are still going on for the clinical application of regenerative therapy in human beings, though there is a promising result in animal model for regeneration of craniofacial structures. In this present book we are going to discuss about the different source of stem cells, their functional biology and proposed clinical application in head and neck region for regeneration of craniofacial organs and structures.
