In this book studies on the insertion and metathesis reactivity of titanium isopropoxide on heterocumulenes have been discussed. It was found that the insertion reaction is a multistep pathway driven by the nucleophilicity of nitrogen along with the sterics of the final inserted product playing an important role. A complete mechnistic study was carried out with the aim of looking at the intricacies involved in this reaction. Along with this a new reaction pathway was discovered which led to the formation of metathesis products of isocyanates, various structural and reactivity patterns of this…mehr

Along with this a new reaction pathway was discovered which led to the formation of metathesis products of isocyanates, various structural and reactivity patterns of this metathesis reaction was studied. As part of this work it has been shown that carbon dioxide can be used as a precursor to form isocyanates.
