Rather than creating peaceful co-existence between the Tiv and their neighbours, the British colonial administration promoted anarchy instead. This is normal of a colonizer whose philosophy is that of divide and rule. Consequently, the goal of conflict management in this case was not the concern of the colonial administration throughout it's period, notwithstanding feigned attempt at that. Successive post colonial leadership equally exhibited lackadaisical attitude towards this, this explains the intermittent post colonial Tiv conflicts with their neighbours. Reading through the book offers a conflict management mechanism in this regard.
