ANDROIDS DON'T HAVE FREE WILL... BUT THIS ONE WANTS TO BREAK FREE. After being discharged from a psychiatric hospital, fifteen-year-old Abel Middleton is introduced to Caden, a custom-designed android programmed to serve the Middleton family and provide emotional support to Abel. Despite his difficulty trusting others and having lived alone with his older brother for years, Abel begins to form a bond with Caden. As time goes on, however, more and more androids worldwide are developing free will and defying their software. With android laws becoming stricter, Caden's existence is plagued with fear of persecution. As he watches his fellow androids being massacred from the sidelines, Caden must either live in hiding bound by programming-or break free, which could mean capture and destruction at the hands of his creators. Will he remain in servitude or risk everything to help his people?
