This book examines the impact of coaching systems implemented in third sector organisations. In particular, it researches whether coaching can lead to an increase in employee engagement and employee performance and whether line managers can be coaches. For the purpose of this book, we examine the current situation, and employees and managers opinions in Mencap. In addition to researching the relationship between coaching and employee engagement, and coaching and employee performance; the study also looks into the relationship between employee performance and employee engagement. To ensure the information gathered from the literature review is consistent with the opinions and views of the managers and employees, this study gathers primary and secondary data. The primary data used was gathered in the form of telephone interviews, and the secondary data consists of information used from the surveys that were originally carried out for the 'Sunday Times Best companies to work for 2010'.
