Autorenporträt
Kevin Boon is a New Zealand author who has written plays, television programmes and over 100 books, including novels and short stories, however most of his work has been non-fiction about aspects of New Zealand history. His most recent publication is Toby's Endeavour Voyage, which describes the amazing voyage of James Cook, his passengers and crew, aboard H.M.S. Endeavour, told through the eyes of an imaginary Cabin Boy, Toby Robinson. Disillusioned by the loss of life aboard the Endeavour, Toby settled down to a quiet life as a country doctor, but after the death of his wife he signs on as surgeon aboard H.M.S. Victory, under the command of Admiral Horatio Nelson. Kevin states, "I enjoy writing both fiction and nonfiction but I like to tell the story from the point of view of a character in the story as it enables me to describe the atmosphere and emotional situation with greater intimacy.
