He was appointed by Attorney General Robert J. Spagnoletti to be responsible for all of the District''s appellate litigation before the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Prior to becoming Solicitor General, Kim was an appellate attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, Environment and National Resources Division. Mr. Kim graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1997, where he was an executive editor of the Harvard Law Review, and received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, in biology from Harvard College in 1994. After law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judith Rogers on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
