In recent years a number of extra-district students from neighbouring authorities have also chosen to come to T.H.S. for their education.The school is situated near the centre of Todmorden, a West Yorkshire town on the Lancashire border easily accessed from the M62 and M65 motorways, as well as nearby metropolitan areas. The school grounds include their own playing fields, but are also situated next to the local park and sports centre.
