High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! MP Tofael Ahmed born in an eminent Muslim family of Bhola, a district of northern Bangladesh. He served as Minister of Industries of Sheikh Hasina's cabinet during 1996-2001. Presently he is the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industries Ministry. Ahmed is also the member of the advisory committee of Awami League. Earlier he was one of the influential member of the presidium (highest body) of Awami League. He was elected several times as member of jatio sangsad from Bhola=1 constituency. In 1970 Tofael was a young man who became the political secretary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He was a freedom fighter and one of the organizers of Mujib Bahini or Bangladesh Liberation Force(BLF) (a guerrilla force fighting against Pakistan) in the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.
