During COVID Igoe Brown faced many questions about life as most did. What is community? How do we serve our communities when we can barely serve ourselves? Life had stopped, and yet life and struggle and relationships and work still went on. Working class loneliness and despair are strongly featured in this poetry collection as they attempted to still live life and build community. Occasionally turning to self harm, Brown tackles many subjects including negative self talk, cutting, and self deprecating humor about chronic health issues.
