School has finally begun, and Miss Brooke is eager to teach her first ever 3rd grade class. Her class is special with 10 students living with unique challenges. Through poems and stories, sensitive topics are introduced, like Autism, Down Syndrome, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Transgender Identity. Students describe their experience living with these challenges in augmented reality and bring awareness of the difficulty a classroom setting can be. In addition, each student has a dedicated poem, tips to make students with challenges more comfortable, and discussion questions for parents and teachers to encourage conversation. "The augmented reality adds an interactive and highly effective layer of learning to emotional and sensitive topics youth struggle with every day in and outside of the classroom". - Terry Williams, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist & Certified School Psychologist "Book 1 of Tolerance Tykes came out in the fall of 2017 and completely changed my life. I will never forget flipping through the pages of the freshly printed book with tears in my eyes. The first ten students I created felt like my own children. My goal in writing Tolerance Tykes was to provide a learning tool to better educate today's youth on emotional and sensitive topics that aren't effectively addressed in today's education system". - Brooke Aiello, Author & Illustrator of Tolerance Tykes Tolerance Tykes has partnered with immersive technology company, ARSOME Technology Tolerance Tykes has partnered with the immersive technology company, ARSOME Technology to bring each student to life in augmented reality.
