Win Ellis was a junior school teacher who lived at Sevenoaks Weald all her life. When she died at the age of 104 in 2003, she was something of a village institution. She had an astonishing memory and was able to remember everything that had happened in the village in the twentieth century. In Tom Tiddler's Ground, she tells the story of her childhood at the turn of the twentieth century, in a quiet village in the Weald of Kent.
