The author's background in teaching is joyfully apparent in this story. His approach to simple courtesies such as saying "thank you" and "please" are invaluable to important social skills. When I learned them as a young boy, I immediately knew I had been handed something very important. The author's subtle presentation of simple lessons of social living in a world of child like entertainment is sure to be refreshing to parents and captivating to children.
