Nick Tonkin is the author and creator of the lovable gassy little owl named Tommy the Toot Owl. The idea of Tommy was created during a scenic car ride through a wooded stretch of highway between Chicago and Detroit. During the ride his wife heard a noise Nick played off as a "Hoot Owl" in the woods and his wife quickly pointed out that it sounded more like a "toot owl." The rest of the car ride was full of laughter and fun as Nick's never resting mind wouldn't stop developing the storyline. The story developed into a silly story that children with stomach related issues can connect with. Nick was born and raised in Michigan and is currently lives in Metro Detroit where he works as an engineer in the automotive industry. He enjoys spending time tinkering and creating new products in his workshop, restoring a 1967 Airstreams and anything related to physical fitness. When Nick isn't working on one of his ideas you can find him relaxing with his wife on the deck during the summers.
