Love and duty collide A world torn apart by war Kate Kelly had built a secure and safe world for herself, her daughter, and her niece, that world fell apart on a hot December morning in 1944. Michael Brannigan had buried himself in his work. He performed his duty, looked after his men, and served his country. On that December day his refuge vanished. Both have suffered tragic loss and resist the yearnings of the heart to avoid being hurt. They discover their connection goes deeper than they thought possible and realize they are each other's cure for heartbreak. What will they risk, in a war where tragedy strikes again and again, where families and loved ones are torn apart, some never to return the same, if at all?Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Bernadette grew up in country Western Australia before moving to Perth, where she attended High School. She worked as an office assistant for many years before backpacking around Europe in the 70's. Returning to Australia, she raised her family and now has three wonderful grandchildren. Bernadette lives in Secret Harbour, Western Australia and writes from an Australian perspective. She has published Tomorrow's Roses, set in Fremantle during 1944-45 and Tomorrow's Promise, set in Cottesloe and locations around the world, during the turmoil of the Vietnam War. When researching a news article which stated that of 143 bodies exhumed at a grave site in High Park Dublin, only 75 were identified by name, A Holiday Promise came to mind. This article took Bernadette back to her school days, of furtive glances across a classroom and the imagination of young girls. The story evolved into one of sacrifice and secrets, of a search for the truth and a father's love.
