Melissa Lauren Powell is an enterprising performing arts teacher in Brooklyn, New York. She aspires to empower the youth through the arts, instilling a creative outlet for children to thrive and go far beyond their wildest dreams. As a little girl, Melissa loved spelling bees and competitions. She especially loved practicing tongue twisters with her mom such as Sally sold sea shells by the sea shore. Those experiences gave Melissa the incentive to write her first children's book. She resides in Brooklyn, New York, with her daughter, who also shares her love for eloquently tackling tongue twisters.
