Gary Fishlock was born in Newcastle NSW, the eldest of three siblings. He wrote his very first Mimpy story when he was five years old. By the time he was ten he had written lots of Mimpy books to entertain his younger brother and sister. He typed them up on his mother's old-fashioned typewriter, drew the pictures and stapled all the pages together.Now after many years of writing stories about humans, Gary has returned to his furry black and white friend. Mimpy and the Fainting Goat, the story of how Mimpy and Cormack met, was published in 2022, followed by Mimpy and the Karma Llama in 2023.
