*This book is about the cycle of childhood sexual abuse. Extreme physical, emotional and sexual abuse is discussed. From being sexually abused to becoming a perpetrator. Read about valuable tools James learned to help him succeed in having no more victims.* I have written this book about my life, in an effort to show people that a person just does not wake up one day and decide to abuse others or act destructively. My sincere hope is that by reading this book, which is written in two sections, somehow my own journey will help you find the road to healing your trauma and recovery from abusive behavior. Part 1 of this book is called 'A Time in Pain...' As a child, I suffered from physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. By sharing my life experience with you, my aim is to expose my personal caustic cycle of destructive thoughts and feelings that led to my own abusive behavior. Perhaps this will help you to identify your own destructive actions, or those of someone close to you. Part 2 of this book '...In Time We Heal.' I share with you some very useful tools I used that helped in my own recovery. Yes in fact, we can regain self-respect and self-forgiveness, and even perhaps regain some of that dignity we seemed to have lost along the way. Trauma healing means letting go of the many destructive, fake, isolating Masks we all wear. We must do this to break the cycle of abuse. By sharing my secrets, I hope you will discover that no matter what the type or degree of abuse that you have suffered through or inflicted upon your victims, you are not a "lost cause." Once we mend ourselves from within, we begin to understand why we made the poor choices that perpetuate the cycle of abuse. I am not proud of my own cycle of abuse. But if my experience can help at least one person expose their own shame-filled, dysfunctional Masks or if one child is saved from what I went through and what I put my victims through, then telling my story has been worth it. I have vowed that the cycle of abuse stop with me. If I can choose to change then so can you. The opportunity is before you to acquire the tools for positive change. ( This book is about the cycle of childhood sexual abuse. Due to the topic & experiences of extreme physical, emotional, sexual, and spouse abuse, this book is encouraged for adults only.)

Autorenporträt
James T. Petra grew up on the west coast and now lives in a small town in the mid-west with his wife Tara. To date, he is still active in P.T.S.D. treatment and motivates others to share their healing story, encouraging them to also stop wearing Too Many Masks. "Friends, it's hard being the 'poster child' of what NOT to do, as I went through life before Trauma Healing and Recovery. As I encourage people to read my book, once they finish reading it, I find it hard to make eye contact with them. However, it's nothing in comparison to the years of bottled up toxic shame and emotional baggage I've lived with all my life. To live through such horrendous abuse then to continue the cycle of abuse, is mind boggling, until you see my thought process. It by no means justifies my actions as a perpetrator; it does however, shed light as why I made the choices I've made. Adult children of abuse must get help; we cannot break this cycle on our own. Please, I urge anyone who reads this to get the help you need and deserve. I've learned that who you've been isn't who you have to be. We can stop the cycle of abuse, one voice at a time." *JTPetra ( Get a look into what motivates the cycle of child abuse. Learn the truth about Anger. Learn how thinking and feeling better about yourself, will help you stop hurting other people. Learn invaluable affirmations to replace the voices in your head that keep you from progressing in your recovery and help you stay victim free.) "NO MORE MASKS = NO MORE SECRETS / NO MORE SECRETS = NO MORE VICTIMS."
