Topological Phases of Matter is one of the most exciting topics in condensed matter physics. This important, graduate level text unites the underlying physical mechanisms behind the unique phenomena in topological matter within a general, theoretical framework.

Roderich Moessner is director at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems in Dresden. His theoretical discoveries include classical and quantum spin liquids, emergent magnetic monopoles, and non-equilibrium spatiotemporal ordering phenomena. He is recipient of the Leibniz Prize and of the Europhysics Prize, Honorary Fellow of Hertford College, Oxford, and member of the Executive Board of the German Physical Society.
