The book recounts the events that led to the Torry Ferry disaster which claimed the lives of 32 people. And for good measure it also contains information about the origin of the rowie, teaching conditions in the 19th century and the last pistol duel fought in the North East of Scotland. This is an expanded and updated version of the book originally published in 2006.
