There is no universally acceptable tools and techniques to measure and improve the quality of products and services in libraries. TQM is one of such technique used for the improvement and maintenance of quality or performance of the libraries. Therefore, it is necessary for library and information professionals to understand core concepts, methods and techniques used in TQM. The book is to examine the application of Total Quality Management in University Libraries of India and to measures the perception of users as they relate to quality of information products and services, and to determine how far the libraries has succeeded in delivering such services to its users. The study also highlights the brief theoretical framework about the concept of quality, statistical quality control and TQM application in LIS.
