Melisa Torres is the best-selling author of the Perfect Balance Gymnastics Series. She grew up in San Jose, California where she trained at Almaden Valley Gymnastics Club and competed in USA Gymnastics' Junior Olympic program for ten years. Melisa then attended Utah State University where she studied Psychology and Literature and competed for their NCAA Division 1 Gymnastics Team. Melisa was a two-time Academic All-American and team captain.Melisa currently lives in Utah and is a single mother to two active boys. She enjoys attending their soccer games and taking them to the library. When Melisa is not parenting or writing she can be found weight lifting or partner dancing.
