In Panama, the natural areas of the Province of Bocas del Toro are a clear example of the opportunities that biodiversity and indigenous culture offer for eco-entrepreneurship in responsible tourism. It is for this reason that the need arises to describe a model of tourism eco-entrepreneurship as a strategy for sustainable local development with indigenous identity. The study was carried out in three phases, the first phase represented by the community approach, the second phase constituted by the collective construction of knowledge and finally, the evaluation of knowledge with the support of theoretical approaches, models of entrepreneurship and models of local development. The study shows that both the environmental and socio-economic characteristics of the Sieykin community, as well as the sensitivity of its inhabitants to the environment, would favour in the long term the sustainable eco-entrepreneurship of the different activities linked to tourism. Consequently, this type of business would have a privileged position within the panorama projected for the region, given its generic capacity to create wealth, economic development and well-being.
