The importance of destination marketing in tourism is incontestable nowadays. The effectiveness of marketing activities, however, depends on the efforts and plans of tourism suppliers and other entities. The best-managed and marketed enterprises and destinations are likely to benefit. This study aimed at assessing the marketing practices of selected tourism destinations in Ethiopia. Emerging marketing practices leverage not only the core products, but also other elements that form the totality of a destination.
