A few nights before the tournament, Aramis is caught sneaking out of the castle. The council punishes him by binding his soul with the future queen. Since Aramis is not skilled at traditional male crafts, he will never win the tournament or the hand of the queen, forced to suffer the rest of his life from unrequited love. Aramis must win the tournament or the ways of the kingdom will never change. Thousands of fae just like him will be forced to hide their true interests. Worse, they may become wingless servants. But the elder fae council manipulates the tournament games. They will do anything to remain in power and prevent Aramis from altering tradition.
