Gold nanorods are used for their wide variety of commercial and industrial applications. With the increasing applications of gold nanorods, the occupational exposure is also increased enormously. But, there is little availability of data related to their toxicity and ecological implications. So, the book is revealed the toxicity effects of gold nanorods following exposure to different human cell cultures, in vitro and as well as following intra-tracheal instillation in rats, in vivo. The authors proposed that the gold nanorods induced size and dose dependent toxicity in all tested biomarkers.
