The following research sought to answer whether alternative journalistic vehicles followed models of hegemonic journalism or the so-called mainstream press. To answer this research problem, we chose a vehicle that fits as an alternative to be the object of study, which was the Agência Mural. By means of a bibliographical survey of the theories of alternative journalism and community journalism, we sought to define what the classification of the vehicle was. We also approached concepts of hegemony and media concentration, which helped us in the analysis of this research. The methodology chosen was interviewing a sample of the vehicle's collaborators. We analyzed the obtained data crossing them with the chosen bibliography, dividing it by themes, which helped us to fulfill the proposed objectives and to answer our problem. We concluded that alternative journalism reproduces the models of hegemonic journalism, mainly because this model is the only one available.
