Innovation play a vital role in agricultural production, especially because of the need to increase production to feed the market. However, the effectiveness of innovation is affected by government policies such as trade liberalisation and related policies (TL&P). These policies can affect innovation positively or negatively. The yam subsector of Ghana has been on the radar in terms of finding the effect of TL&P on innovation. Various innovations have evolved in the yam subsector ranging from the use of minisetts, to the use of skilled labour. However, the adoptions of these innovations are greatly influenced by the economic environment (TL&P). TL&P has created favourable environment for the sector to receive the necessary investment which therefore has affected innovations in the sector. The multimillion questions that are often asked by many stakeholders have always included: what are the various and adoption levels of yam innovations that have evolved in the era of trade liberalization? What are the factors of TL&P affecting yam innovation adoption? What are the impact of TL&P on innovation and primitive technologies in yam production? Hence, this book addresses these questions
