The book explores the competitiveness and determinant factors behind machine tool exports of India during the period of trade liberalisation regime. Machine tools, being a strategic and high linkage industry with rest of the manufacturing sectors; has undergone structural changes since 1990s. In the open trade regime, it is expected that most of the industries will improve their operational efficiency and competitiveness so as to engage in export related activities with rest of the world. In this context, the study analyses the demand as well as supply side forces affecting machine tool export behavior under trade policy reform.
