The focus of this research project was on the views that Zulu traditional healers and caregivers hold on the role of traditional Zulu medicine on psychosis (ukuhlanya). Siyabonga Makhanya est né à Esikhawini township (nord du KwaZulu Natal) en Afrique du Sud. Il a étudié à l'université de Zululand où il a obtenu deux diplômes : une licence de psychologie et un master en psychologie du conseil. Principaux centres d'intérêt : Psychologie indigne, psychologie psychodynamique et psychologie critique. Il exerce en cabinet privé à Durban.
