In the work on the basis of philosophical, cultural and pedagogical ideas defined the essential characteristics of spiritual and moral education. Theoretically substantiated and experimentally confirmed the pedagogical significance of the traditions of Russian folk culture; developed and experimentally tested a specific technology of using traditions in the spiritual and moral education of students. During the experimental work the author identified the criteria, mechanisms and conditions of spiritual and moral education of students by means of folk culture.
