Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Romanistik - Italianistik, Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: The presented study enquires the myth of one oft the most ambivalent female figures in history, "Malinche". Mostly because of her role as a translator and her therefore significant function in the conquest of contemporary Mexico by Martín Cortés, Malinche has become an oscillating myth anchored in collective commemoration and represented in artificial altercation over centuries. The aim of this paper is on the one hand to analyse how Malinche is presented and on the other one to embed the results in the context of means and declarations of the post-colonial studies.
