Two-way two-lane highways play a major role in the highway network system in all countries. The most appropriate service measures for two-lane highway is the combination of average travel speed (ATS) and percent time-spent-following (PTSF). Many traffic models are available in developed countries; such models give bias when applied to driver behavior and geometric features in developing countries. The objective of this work is to study the traffic operations and to develop speed prediction models which could be used by analysts to evaluate traffic performance on two-lane rural highways.
